Alison Attenborough is a chef, stylist, restaurant consultant, recipe developer, sometimes art director and author of “Cooking for Friends” – winner of the IACP cookbook award in April 2010 for styling and photography.

Her interest in food styling peaked at the tender age of 16, when she became aware of how gorgeous images of fine cuisine could be. During college, where she studied Home Economics, she worked on a series of books called “The Good Cook”, published by Time Life Books. It was here she met such food luminaries as Richard Olney, Jane Grigson, and Elizabeth David. She also cooked at the prestigious Gidleigh Park Hotel for a year. Destiny followed its course.. her fate was sealed! Alison has been engulfed in the food world ever since.

Alison went on to cater parties for various private and corporate clients. The most interesting were traveling to large shooting parties on amazing historic estates.

She worked in food styling until she moved to LA where she worked as a private chef for many celebrity clients; the most well known being the cast of Friends, Robert Redford, Diane Keeton, Barry Diller. Alison also added her culinary knowledge on movies such as The Crossing Guard, Wild Wild West, and Titanic.

She has a strong flair for fashion art and design as well as food, which has been a great asset on projects such as the style of Lette’s website and the update of the Westin Chosun Bakery and product line in Seoul, Korea.

Also coming up with a natural look and style for the Chobani yoghurt cafe with architect and creative Andrea Lenardin. Helping food brands with branding and content.

Based in New York, she works on a wide range of projects including: TV, film, commercials, cookbooks, and magazines.
Alison is perhaps best known for her natural style, attention to detail and love of travel. She has traveled across the globe with a photographer on many shoots for Food and Wine as stylist and art director. One of which shoots won a James Beard award for Visual Storytelling in 2014.

Presently she is collaborating on a beauty brand and making many cocktails for clients in front and behind the camera.
